This course will focus on IO and Hybrid Life Cycle Assessment. Miljögiraff and Ekocentrum invites you to take your knowledge to a higher level.
Course on input-output (IO) and hybrid LCA. The included subjects are: Basic Input-Output Analysis and life cycle assessment theory, data for basic and advanced IO-analysis, hybrid IO-tables, methods for trade-linking and multi-regional IO-models, application areas and communication of IO models and results.
The learning outcomes are: Understanding of the methods for input-output and hybrid analysis, understanding of the difference between different modelling approaches and their implications for the modelled system, experience with using IO and hybrid models in LCA software (SimaPro), and knowledge on the application areas of IO and hybrid LCA as well as on the limitations of the approach.
♣ The basic math of LCA calculations
♣ Supply-use tables – the basis of IO-tables
♣ Analyzing GHG emissions related to production and consumption for a country using LCA software
♣ Dealing with imports and exports
♣ Hybrid models, creating a mirror of the economy in physical units
♣ Working with hybrid data
♣ Application areas and limitations of IO and hybrid LCA
